Fresh off the presses, Cort's new CD, Chicken Pickin', hasn't even made it into stores yet. That will change in January, 2010. This project is composed of 12 original songs, performed solo, with just a little sweet harmony vocals added by Cort's good friend and recording engineer Tyler Richart. Recorded in Dungeness Valley, WA, at Nash's Corner, over the course of 2009, the CD shows an American roots musician who has found his voice. It is powerful, and it is sweet. Check it out...
Recorded in Asheville, NC, in 2001, this CD features some of the best young musical talent of the area backing up Cort on this "stew" of country blues and bluegrass. The band line-up includes Cort Armstrong (guitar and vocals), Daniel Coolik (mandolin), Sean Foley (piano), John Mulholland (percussion), Cailen Campbell (fiddle), Andy Pond (banjo), and Jay Saunders (upright bass).
Total Time: 42 minutes
Recorded in 1999, in Seattle, WA, this CD marks the beginning of Cort's recording and performing career. It contains an excellent cross-section of repertoire, from mountain fiddle, to bluegrass, to country blues. There is a lot of energy in these tracks, and even if they don't all ring with perfection, there are a few gems! The line-up of musicians includes Cort Armstrong (guitar and vocals), Sean Divine (harmonica and vocals), Adam Tanner (mandolin), Kevin Sandri (upright bass and vocals), Jeremy Rudo (guitar and vocals), and very special guest Tim Barrett (banjo and vocals).
Total Time: over 65 minutes
